My name and it's meaning

About Me
The meaning behind Carina
Situated right is a picture of the (eta) Carinae Nebula situated in the Constellation of Carina, also known as NGC 3372.
This is one of the most spectacular photographs ever taken of the heavens.
It is also one of the reasons that inspired my mother and father to take up astronomy.
The meaning behind Tanis
If you look closely at the map of Egypt
you will find a town called Tanis.
It is believed to hold the Lost Ark of the Covenant.
Tanis was built around 1570 BC (Before Carina)
It was two weeks prior to my birth when my Mother and Father were discussing having a second name, when from out of the blue, Mum said the word Tanis. Mum used to go to art college with a Tanis Douglas and Dad loved the name so much that it was decided then and there. It is also helpful that the Tanis that Mum knew is a really nice person and is an artist just like my Mum.
My Dad was talking to one of the people that he works with who is of Chinese decent, and the subject of my name was raised. Daddys friend Shu said that in Chinese mythology, that if a name has a meaning to the giver, the child will have a long and rich life that will be filled with love and happiness.
I think this will be true, as it has been pretty good so far.
